Subareas
Managing Subareas Within Your Land
Subareas are a powerful tool that allow you to divide your land into specific, customizable regions within your already-claimed chunks. They give you greater flexibility to manage different parts of your land separately — perfect for setting up specialized zones like farms, guest houses, PvP arenas, or private areas.
What Are Subareas? Subareas are smaller, defined regions inside your land claims. Each subarea can have its own permissions, roles, and settings without affecting the rest of your land. This lets you organize and control your territory with much more precision.
How to Create a Subarea:
Use the Selection Tool: Run the
/lands selection
command to receive a special hoe tool.Select the Area: With the hoe, left-click one corner of the area you want to define and right-click the opposite corner to set a region within your claim.
You must select an area within the bounds of your already-claimed chunks.
Selections are outlined visually to help you mark the space.
Assign the Subarea: After selecting your region, run
/lands assign [subarea-name]
to officially create the subarea and give it a custom name.
Managing Subarea Permissions:
Once a subarea is created, you can manage it separately from the rest of your land.
Use
/lands menu
→ Subareas tab to:Trust or untrust players specifically for that subarea.
Set custom flags (such as allowing PvP, block breaking, chest access, and more).
Assign different roles and permission levels unique to that subarea.
Players you trust for a subarea will not automatically have access to your entire land unless you also grant them global permissions.
Examples of Subarea Uses:
Farm Zones: Allow friends to farm crops but not modify your base.
Guest Houses: Give guests temporary building rights without access to your valuables.
PvP Arenas: Enable PvP only inside a designated fighting area without risking battles elsewhere.
Important Notes:
Subareas must stay inside your own claimed chunks; you cannot create subareas outside your main claims.
You can create multiple subareas within your land to organize it however you like.
