Getting Started
To begin farming with VitalCraft's Custom Farming, you'll need to craft a Growstation and set it up properly for planting and growing crops. Follow these steps to get started:
Crafting the Growstation: First, you need to craft the Growstation in your crafting table. To do so, place a Flower Pot in the center of the crafting grid. Surround it with Wheat Seeds on all sides (top, bottom, left, right, and corners). This will yield a Growstation. (You can see an image of the recipe in /farm menu at the bottom of the gui.)
Placing the Growstation: After crafting the Growstation, place it on the ground in a location where you want to set up your farm. The Growstation can be placed on any solid block surface, and it’s recommended to place it in a relatively flat area for easy access and optimal growth conditions.
Adding Water: For your crops to grow inside the Growstation, you must add water. Make sure there’s water inside the Growstation by right-clicking it with a water bucket. When you click inside the Growstations GUI, there will be a water limit so you know how much water it will hold. Without water, the crops will not grow, so it's essential for the growth process.
Planting Seeds: To plant seeds in the Growstation, sneak (hold down the shift key) and right-click on the Growstation with the seeds in your hand. This will automatically plant the seeds inside the Growstation. You can plant a variety of crops such as onions, lettuce, cucumbers and more. You will gain more plants as you go through the leveling process. (Check your level in /farm menu)
Crop Growth: Once you’ve planted your crops and added water, the Growstation will automatically begin the growth process. There will be a timer within the Growstations GUI for easy time management. Keep in mind the biome and weather needed for each crop. You can see this in the /farm codex.
Harvesting Crops: When your crops are fully grown, you can harvest them just like normal crops. You will need to open up the Growstations GUI and manually pull out the finished crop. (Drag and drop into your inventory)
Keep the Growstation Active: To keep your crops growing, make sure your Growstation remains active. You can check its status by left clicking on the Growstation and pulling up the Growstation GUI, and you can stop or start farming operations as needed. Ensure the Growstation has a consistent water supply for continuous crop growth.
By following these steps, you’ll quickly be able to set up your own farming system, grow a variety of crops, increase your farming skills and enjoy a more efficient farming experience on VitalCraft!
